NoteOwl activates this Mac as soon as it sees the payment, or you can click **Activate this Mac** in **License…** yourself. ## How do I buy NoteOwl Pro? Inside NoteOwl, signed in with your email address. The Buy button is on every NoteOwl Pro screen while you're on NoteOwl Free, and in **License…**. You pay on a payment page in your web browser, and the purchase belongs to the email address you're signed in with. 1. In the NoteOwl sidebar, click a NoteOwl Pro screen, such as **Meeting Scribe** or **Chat**. Or click **…** next to your name at the bottom of the sidebar and choose **License…**. 2. If NoteOwl asks you to sign in, type your email address in the **Your email** field and click **Continue**, then type the code NoteOwl emails you in the **Code from your email** field and click **Verify**. 3. Click **Buy NoteOwl Pro — $79**. NoteOwl opens the payment page in your browser and says **Complete your purchase in the browser. NoteOwl activates this Mac as soon as the payment lands — or choose Activate this Mac.** 4. Pay on the payment page. 5. Go back to NoteOwl. When NoteOwl sees your payment, it activates this Mac on its own: the NoteOwl Pro screens unlock, and at the bottom of the sidebar NoteOwl shows **NOTEOWL PRO**. 6. If NoteOwl Pro isn't on yet, open **License…** and click **Activate this Mac**: see [activate this Mac yourself](#activate-this-mac-yourself). If Buy or **Activate this Mac** says **Please sign in again.**, click **Sign out** in **License…** if it's shown, sign in again with the same email address, and try once more. If NoteOwl shows an offer, the button reads **Buy NoteOwl Pro**, the offer and its end date are shown above it, and the payment page shows what you'll pay. NoteOwl Pro is a one-time purchase for one Mac. Read the [refund policy](https://www.noteowl.ai/refunds) before you buy. ## How does NoteOwl know I've paid? It asks NoteOwl's licensing service. After you click Buy, NoteOwl checks for your payment on its own for up to 15 minutes, and again when you switch back to NoteOwl. As soon as it sees the payment, it activates this Mac. NoteOwl keeps checking only while the screen you clicked Buy on is still open. If you've closed it, or the payment took longer, open **License…** and click **Activate this Mac**. These checks send your sign-in session and nothing you've recorded: see [what NoteOwl sends over the network](https://www.noteowl.ai/docs/data/network-use). ## Activate this Mac yourself Use this if NoteOwl Pro didn't turn on by itself after you paid. This Mac needs an internet connection. 1. Click **…** next to your name at the bottom of the sidebar and choose **License…**. 2. If you're not signed in, sign in with the email address you bought NoteOwl Pro with: type it in **Your email**, click **Continue**, then type the code from your email in **Code from your email** and click **Verify**. 3. Check that the email address shown under **Licence** is the one you bought with. 4. Click **Activate this Mac**. NoteOwl says **NoteOwl Pro is active on this Mac.**, and the panel shows **NOTEOWL PRO** and **Activated on** followed by your Mac's name. Clicking **Activate this Mac** never charges you. It only looks up a purchase you've already made. Once this Mac is activated, NoteOwl Pro works offline. At most once every 7 days, when NoteOwl opens, it asks NoteOwl's licensing service whether the licence has been revoked, and nothing changes if it can't connect. ## Can I use NoteOwl Pro on more than one Mac? No. A NoteOwl Pro licence activates one Mac and stays with it. To use NoteOwl Pro on a second Mac as well, buy another licence on that Mac, and click **Activate this Mac** after you pay if NoteOwl Pro isn't on yet. Yes. While your 7-day trial is running, open **License…** and choose **Buy NoteOwl Pro — $79**. NoteOwl Pro then stays on this Mac when the trial ends. If the trial ends before you buy, **Buy NoteOwl Pro — $79** appears on the NoteOwl Pro screens and in **License…**. Everything you recorded during the trial stays on your Mac, and buying NoteOwl Pro unlocks the screens that show it again. Click **Buy NoteOwl Pro — $79** again. If that purchase can still be paid, NoteOwl reopens the same payment page rather than starting a second purchase. **License…** may also show **Review unfinished purchases**. It appears when this Mac has a purchase NoteOwl hasn't seen finish. Click it and NoteOwl checks each one with its licensing service: it offers **Open NoteOwl Pro** for a purchase that can still be paid, and clears the ones that are over. ## Common questions ### Do I get a licence key for NoteOwl Pro? No. Your purchase belongs to your email address. To use it on a Mac, sign in to NoteOwl with that address and choose Activate this Mac. There's no key to copy or keep. ### Does activating NoteOwl Pro need an internet connection? Yes. Activating goes through NoteOwl's licensing service, so this Mac needs to be online. Once it's activated, NoteOwl Pro keeps working offline, because NoteOwl checks the licence on your Mac. ### Can I use one NoteOwl Pro licence on two Macs?
