Hold it, speak, release. The text lands in whatever app has focus — editor, browser, chat, terminal.

Filler words, false starts, and punctuation handled, tuned to the app you are writing into.
Your languages
Works across languages including mid-sentence code-switching, with a custom vocabulary for names and jargon it would otherwise mangle.
A live caption while you speak
A small drawer at the top of the screen shows the words as they land, so you catch a misheard word immediately.

noteOwl records the audio playing on your Mac. Nobody sees a guest participant appear in the call.

Speakers are separated automatically, and voices you have named before are recognised in later meetings.

Both the transcription and the language model run on your Mac. There is no inference server.

Install it and it works. Dictation, voice notes, and your own recordings need nothing to sign up for.

After the first-launch model download, you can turn the network off entirely.

Everything lives in a folder on your Mac. Export is a plain file, and deletion is real deletion.
