Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of noteOwl (the “Software”), published by 1070 AI Labs (“we”, “us”). By downloading, installing, or using the Software, you agree to them.

1. Licence

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use the Software. noteOwl Pro is sold as a one-time purchase (a “Lifetime License”) for the version line you buy, including updates we release for it.

One licence covers one Mac. A licence is bound at activation to your verified email address and to the individual Mac you activate it on, and it cannot be moved to another Mac or another person. Using noteOwl Pro on a second Mac requires a second licence. If your Mac is broken, lost, stolen, or repaired in a way that replaces its identity, we will move your licence once in any rolling twelve months at no charge.

2. What you may not do

• Copy, resell, sublicense, rent, transfer, or redistribute the Software or your licence.
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or circumvent the licensing mechanism.
• Remove or alter any proprietary notices.

3. Your content is yours

You retain all rights to everything you record, transcribe, or create with the Software. It is stored on your own device; we claim no licence over it and have no access to it. You are responsible for backing it up.

4. Recording and your responsibilities

Recording laws differ by jurisdiction. You are solely responsible for obtaining any consent required before recording a conversation or meeting, and for using the Software lawfully.

5. Free tier and trial

Unlimited dictation and voice notes are provided free of charge. A 7-day trial of Pro features is available once per account and per Mac; it begins only when you start it, and it requires a verified email address. When it ends, Pro features lock but the free features and all of your existing content remain fully available.

6. Purchases, payment, and refunds

Purchases are processed by our payment provider. noteOwl Pro is sold as a final sale and we do not offer voluntary refunds; the free seven-day trial exists so you can be certain before you pay. Any refund or cancellation right the law where you live gives you is unaffected. See our Refund Policy.

7. Updates and availability

We may release updates that add, change, or remove features. We may discontinue the Software, but doing so will not disable a copy already installed and licensed on your Mac.

8. Disclaimer of warranty

The Software is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind. AI-generated transcripts and summaries can be inaccurate or incomplete. Do not rely on them as the sole record of anything consequential, and always verify before acting on them.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or relating to the Software is limited to the amount you paid for it. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including lost data or lost profits.

10. Termination

This licence ends if you breach these terms. You may end it at any time by uninstalling the Software.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
