How it works

How do you add Korean subtitles to a Spanish video?

To translate a Spanish video to Korean, drop it on this page. It transcribes the Spanish, translates every line into Korean and lays the Korean out as short subtitles in Korean word order on the Spanish timing. Save the Korean SRT when it finishes.

  1. 1

    Drop the Spanish video

MP4, MOV, M4V, MKV, 3GP or WebM; only the sound is read.

  2. 2

    Korean is written

Spanish is transcribed and translated into Korean, for up to 30 minutes of each video.

  3. 3

    Save the Korean subtitles

SRT or VTT. Original gives you the Spanish ones.

Do Korean subtitles need more room than Spanish?

Yes, about a third more on screen. Ten Spanish test sentences came to 1,062 characters and their Korean to 530, but a Korean line holds 16 characters to Spanish’s 42, so the Korean filled more subtitle lines. It is read at 12 characters a second.

Where do Korean subtitle lines break?

At the spaces Korean puts between words, never inside one, with 2 lines a subtitle at most. A typical result from our test: “2009년 헝가리 GP 이후, / 피케 주니어는 퇴출되었습니다.”, two full lines broken after the comma.

Korean puts the verb last, and the Korean is cut into subtitles after it is translated, so the subtitles follow Korean sentences: in a long one, the verb that completes the meaning, such as 향하고 있었습니다 (was heading), lands in its final subtitle.

Is the Korean polite or plain?

Polite. Our test lines ended in the 습니다 style, such as 패배했습니다, where a Korean news writer used the plain 다 style (패했다). Polite endings suit a video that talks to viewers; for narration in a documentary tone, plain endings may read better.

How are names written in Korean subtitles?

In Hangul, sometimes with the original in brackets. Raonic became 라오닉 and Piquet Jr. 피케 주니어, while Fred came back as 프레드(Fred). A Korean writer spelled Raonic 라오니치, so check the names your viewers already know.

FAQ

Questions about Korean subtitles for Spanish videos

Is the Spanish to Korean video translator free?

Yes. Up to 3 videos a day, 30 minutes each, with no account and no watermark. Korean SRT and VTT and the Spanish subtitles are included.

How are times written in Korean?

With 오전 and 오후 for morning and afternoon: “8:46 a. m.” became “오전 8시 46분”. Speeds read 시속 105마일(165km/h), with 시속 for “per hour” and 마일 for miles.

Does it make a Korean voice-over?

No. The page makes Korean subtitles only, and your video file is never changed.

How do Korean viewers find the subtitles on YouTube?

Add Korean under Subtitles in YouTube Studio and upload the SRT with timing. Viewers who read Korean then pick it from the subtitle menu, beside any Spanish track.

Is the video uploaded?

No. Your browser takes the sound out on your device; short pieces go to a cloud AI transcription service and the Spanish text to a cloud AI translation service, each of which discards it. The picture is never sent.
