How it works

How do you get a Korean transcript from Spanish speech?

To translate Spanish audio to Korean, drop the file on this page. It listens for Spanish only, writes each short piece down, then sends the lines for translation into Korean in batches. Every Korean line keeps its time, and Original shows the Spanish.

  1. 1

    Add the Spanish audio

A buyer’s call, an interview, a class or a voice message in MP3, M4A, WAV or OGG.

  2. 2

    Spanish, then Korean

The speech is written in Spanish, then translated into Korean. Up to 30 minutes a file.

  3. 3

    Keep the Korean

Copy it, or save TXT or Word with or without the times.

Which speech level does the Korean use?

The formal polite 습니다 style, in every line of our test, where the human Korean often used the plain 다 style of written reports. Korean marks politeness in each sentence ending; from English, “sir” became 선생님. A relaxed chat may come out stiffer than it sounded.

How are Spanish names written in Korean?

Mostly in Hangul, by sound: Raonic as 라오닉, Piquet Jr. as 피케 주니어. Some came with the Latin spelling in brackets, 프레드(Fred) and 식스 플래그스(Six Flags St. Louis), and Skype stayed in Latin letters. The human translation also bracketed spellings: 라오니치(Raonic).

Two spellings of one name, 라오닉 and 라오니치, show why it pays to check: if a person or company already has a Korean spelling, use theirs.

Why does the Korean sentence end with the verb?

Korean puts the verb last, so the Spanish sentence is rebuilt from the end. “El autobús iba al Six Flags St. Louis, Misuri, para que la banda tocara…” became a Korean sentence that closes on 향하고 있었습니다 (was heading), with the purpose placed before it.

That is one reason the transcript is translated in batches of lines rather than word by word: the translation needs the end of a thought to write its beginning.

How do times and length change in Korean?

Times read 오전 8시 46분, the part of the day first, then the hour and minute. Korean leaves spaces between words, unlike Chinese and Japanese, and in our ten test sentences used about half as many characters as the Spanish.

How was Spanish to Korean translation tested?

With ten Spanish sentences from a public test set, each beside a professional Korean translation. The Korean was clear and consistently polite; the main differences were speech level and the Hangul spelling of names.

FAQ

Questions about translating Spanish audio into Korean

Is the Spanish to Korean audio translator free?

Yes. 3 recordings a day, up to 30 minutes each, with no account. You get the Korean, the Spanish transcript and every download.

Can I make the Korean less formal?

Not with a setting. The translation chooses the speech level, and in our test it chose the formal polite style. For a casual conversation, edit the endings in the text or the Word file afterwards.

Can I save the Korean as a Word document?

Yes. The Word file opens with the recording’s length and “Translated: Spanish → Korean”, then the Korean paragraphs, each with its time unless you untick Times in the text.

What if someone in the recording speaks Korean?

This page writes every part down as Spanish. For a recording in both languages, use the main audio translator with Detect automatically as the spoken language.

Does the Korean transcript show speakers?

No. It has words and times without speaker names. NoteOwl on a Mac labels each speaker.

Is my recording kept?

No. Your browser sends short pieces of the sound to a cloud AI transcription service and the Spanish text to a cloud AI translation service, and each discards it. NoteOwl stores nothing at all.
