How it works
How do you get English subtitles for a Turkish video?
To translate a Turkish video to English, drop the file here. The page takes the sound, writes it down in Turkish, translates each line into English and builds English subtitles on the Turkish timing. Download the SRT and open it with the video.
- 1
Choose the Turkish video
An MP4, MOV, MKV or WebM file. The picture is never sent anywhere.
- 2
English subtitles appear
Turkish speech is transcribed, then translated into English. Up to 30 minutes per video.
- 3
Save the English SRT or VTT
The Turkish subtitles are under Original, with the same timing.
Can you watch a Turkish video with English subtitles this way?
Yes. Save the English SRT with the same name as the video, in the same folder, and most players load it by themselves; others have a menu to add a subtitle file. Each English subtitle appears while the matching Turkish words are spoken.
Why do the English subtitles break in different places from the Turkish?
Turkish tends to end on the verb and English puts it early, so cutting the English where the Turkish was cut would split ideas oddly. The English is laid out as subtitles after translating, following English sentences and the speaker’s pauses.
In “Balıklar genellikle sulardaki yüksek toksin yoğunlukları nedeniyle ölür”, the verb ölür (die) is the last word; in the English, “Fish usually die because of the high toxin concentrations in the waters”, it is the third. Each subtitle still holds at most 2 lines of about 42 characters.
How do Turkish times and place names read in English subtitles?
As an English viewer would write them. The suffix Turkish adds after a time or a name drops away, a morning time gains “a.m.”, and country names are translated: Macaristan becomes Hungarian. Names of people keep their spelling.

- Piquet Jr. 2009 Macaristan Grand Prix'sinden sonra görevden alındı.
- EnglishPiquet Jr. was dismissed after the 2009 Hungarian Grand Prix.

How well is Turkish speech understood?
Well. In our test, Turkish speech was transcribed cleanly and the English made from it rated good. Clear speech helps most; music under the voice or people talking over each other leaves gaps, and a misheard word is translated as heard.
The Turkish subtitles, under Original, follow the same layout rules, so a line such as “Japonya'nın nükleer ajansına göre tesiste” fits on one subtitle line. They’re handy for checking the English against what was said.

FAQ
Questions about English subtitles for Turkish videos
Is the Turkish to English video translator free?
Yes. 3 videos a day, up to 30 minutes each, with no account and no watermark. The English SRT and VTT and the Turkish subtitles are included.
Does it dub the video into English?
No. You get English subtitle files; the video and its Turkish sound are left as they were.
Can I get Turkish subtitles as well?
Yes. Switch the result to Original and download the Turkish SRT. It has the same timing as the speech, so you can publish both tracks or study them side by side.
Do the subtitles name the speakers?
No. The web tool’s subtitles carry the words only. NoteOwl on a Mac labels speakers and can save SRT subtitles with their names.
Is my video uploaded?
No. The sound is taken out of the video in your browser and sent in short pieces to a cloud AI transcription service; the Turkish text then goes to a cloud AI translation service. Both discard it, and the picture never leaves your device.
