To try NoteOwl Pro, click any NoteOwl Pro screen in the sidebar, such as Meeting Scribe or Chat, verify your email address and click Start 7-day Pro trial — no card required. Every NoteOwl Pro feature unlocks on this Mac for 7 days, and NoteOwl returns to Free when they're up.
How do I start the free trial?
From any NoteOwl Pro screen: sign in with your email address, then start the trial. You need an internet connection, but no card.
- In the NoteOwl sidebar, click a NoteOwl Pro screen, such as Meeting Scribe, Chat or People.
- Type your email address in the Your email field and click Continue.
- Type the code NoteOwl emails you in the Code from your email field and click Verify.
- Click Start 7-day Pro trial — no card required. The screen unlocks, and under your name at the bottom of the sidebar NoteOwl shows TRIAL — 7 DAYS LEFT.
You can also start it from your account: click … next to your name at the bottom of the sidebar, choose License…, sign in there, and click Start 7-day Pro trial.
If you're already signed in, NoteOwl also offers the trial once after you've dictated for the first time, as Try Pro for 7 days. Choosing Continue with Free there doesn't use up the trial: it's still there on any NoteOwl Pro screen.
What does the trial include?
Everything in NoteOwl Pro, with the same on-device AI models as NoteOwl Free: meetings, imported recordings, summaries and templates, Chat and search, People, Commitments, Review, Calendar, Vocabulary and rewriting text with ⌥ X. It covers this Mac only.
The trial is tied to your email address and this Mac, and NoteOwl never asks for a card. Nothing you record is sent anywhere: see what NoteOwl sends over the network.
Who can start the trial?
Anyone who hasn't used it. The trial can be used once per account and once per Mac, so a new email address on the same Mac doesn't start it again. If it has been used, NoteOwl says The trial has already been used on this account or this Mac.
If the trial can't start, for example because you're offline, NoteOwl says why, and the trial isn't used up. Try again when you're connected.
What happens when the trial ends?
NoteOwl returns to NoteOwl Free on its own. Nothing is charged and there's nothing to cancel. Dictation keeps working as before, and the NoteOwl Pro screens lock again, but everything you recorded stays on your Mac.
- Your recordings stay. Meetings, transcripts and notes from the trial are kept on your Mac. To take a copy, use Export all data… in Settings → Memory, which works on NoteOwl Free.
- NoteOwl may ask why. Your trial has ended asks what stopped you continuing. It's optional: pick a reason and click Send, or click No thanks. No recordings or transcripts are included.
- To keep NoteOwl Pro, click Buy NoteOwl Pro — $79 on any NoteOwl Pro screen or in License…, and pay in your browser. If you've paid and NoteOwl Pro isn't on, choose Activate this Mac. It's a one-time purchase for one Mac, and the unlocked screens show everything you recorded during the trial.

Common questions
Do I need a card for the NoteOwl Pro trial?
No. The NoteOwl Pro trial needs only your email address, which you verify with a code. No payment details are asked for, and nothing is charged when the trial ends.
Can I use the NoteOwl Pro trial twice?
No. The NoteOwl Pro trial can be used once per account and once per Mac. If it has already been used, NoteOwl says The trial has already been used on this account or this Mac.
Does the NoteOwl trial turn into a paid plan?
No. When the 7 days are up, NoteOwl returns to NoteOwl Free on its own. There's nothing to cancel, and NoteOwl Pro is a one-time purchase you choose to make, not a subscription.
What happens to meetings I recorded during the NoteOwl Pro trial?
They stay on your Mac. When the trial ends, the NoteOwl Pro screens lock, but your recordings, transcripts and notes are kept. Export all data in Settings → Memory saves them to a file on NoteOwl Free, and buying NoteOwl Pro unlocks the screens again.
Delete a recording or all your data
