How it works

How do you transcribe Bosnian audio?

Add the recording and wait. The page cuts it into short pieces at pauses, writes every piece in Bosnian and lists the paragraphs with their start times as they come. At the end, copy the text or choose a download.

  1. 1

    Add a Bosnian recording

A voice message saved from your phone, a lecture, a radio interview or a meeting, as audio or video.

  2. 2

    Bosnian, not guessed

Every piece is written as Bosnian, for up to 30 minutes of each file.

  3. 3

    Copy or download

Copy the transcript, or keep it as Word, plain text, or SRT and VTT subtitles.

Is the transcript in Latin or Cyrillic?

Latin. Every piece came back in Latin script, with č, ć, đ, š and ž in the right places. Bosnian is also written in Cyrillic; for that, run the text through a Latin-to-Cyrillic converter afterwards, a mechanical change because each letter has one match.

Does it keep ijekavian forms?

Mostly. Sjever, rijetko, prije, svijest and vrijeme came back ijekavian, as Bosnian writes them. A few ekavian forms slipped through, vreme, vrednost and nedelju, so search for e where you expect ije when you edit.

vrijeme
Came back asusually vrijeme; once vreme
vrijednost
Came back asvrednost
nedjelju
Came back asnedelju
sjeveru, rijetko, prije
Came back askept as written

How are dates and numbers written?

With digits and the ordinal dot, as in “od 1800. godine” and “1940. godine”. Counts said in words become figures (trinaest → 13, pet minuta → 5 minuta), and a speed came back as “70 km na sat”.

Why choose a converter set to Bosnian?

Bosnian, Croatian and Serbian are close enough that a guessed language can switch between them from piece to piece. Set to Bosnian, the transcript keeps one standard throughout, with only the occasional ekavian word to fix.

Names and abbreviations still need a look: SAD-a came back as SAD, and Kowloon as kublon. For a recording that moves into English or German for long passages, the main converter detects each piece’s language.

Can NoteOwl on a Mac work in Bosnian?

Not in Bosnian, so keep this page for that. NoteOwl on a Mac understands 34 languages, English and German among them, and transcribes recordings and meetings in them with unlimited transcription, every speaker labelled and nothing uploaded.

FAQ

Bosnian audio to text: questions

Is the Bosnian converter free?

Yes. 3 Bosnian files a day, up to 30 minutes of each, with no account; the downloads are included.

Where does my Bosnian recording go?

Short pieces of it travel over a secure connection to a cloud AI transcription service, which transcribes each one and discards it. NoteOwl keeps no copy of the audio or the text, so save your transcript before leaving the page.

Does it add punctuation?

Yes. Every sentence ends with a full stop and commas are mostly in place. Quotation marks („…“) and brackets are left out, so add them back where you quote someone.

Can I make Bosnian subtitles?

Yes. Download SRT or VTT: each line has its start and end time and keeps č, ć, đ, š and ž, ready for a video editor.

Will it work for a recording from Sarajevo, Mostar or Tuzla?

It writes standard Bosnian in Latin script whatever the speaker’s town. Clear speech close to the microphone gives the cleanest Bosnian transcript; check local names against the audio.
