How it works

How do you transcribe Macedonian audio?

Open your recording on this page. The sound is broken into short pieces at pauses, each piece is written in Macedonian, and the transcript appears with a time on every paragraph. Copy it or download it when it stops.

  1. 1

    Open a Macedonian recording

A lecture, an interview, a voice memo or a call recording, as audio or video.

  2. 2

    Macedonian Cyrillic appears

Every piece is decoded as Macedonian, for up to 30 minutes of each file.

  3. 3

    Copy or save

Copy the text, or download a Word file, plain text, or SRT and VTT subtitles.

Which Macedonian letters does it get right?

Most of them: ј, њ and ѓ appeared where they should almost every time. The letter to watch is ќ, which came back as plain к in about half its places, so ќе often reads ке. And Џон came back as Джон, with дж in place of џ.

ќе
Sometimes came back asке
Џон
Sometimes came back asДжон
онлајн
Sometimes came back asонлайн, with й
сè, ѝ
Sometimes came back asсе, и, without the accent

Why do some words look Bulgarian?

Because Macedonian and Bulgarian are close, and a few words came back in a Bulgarian shape: Влажността for влажноста, представува for претставува, собствените for сопствените. With the language fixed to Macedonian, these stayed to the odd word.

Searching for й, ъ and щ, which Macedonian does not use, finds several of them at once.

How are numbers written in Macedonian?

As digits: дванаесет came back as 12 and a ratio as “3 према 2”. Abbreviations are spelled out, so 400 г. н.е. became “400 години од нашата ера”. Check counts said close together: двајца and дваесетмина once came back as 20 and 12.

What happens to English names and long quotations?

English names are written in Cyrillic, even M16, which came back as М16, and Larson as Ларсон. One long sentence with a quotation came back as a single word, so check that every sentence you expect is there, and add the quotation marks the transcript leaves out.

For a recording that changes into English for long passages, the main converter detects the language of each piece and writes those parts in English.

Does NoteOwl on a Mac understand Macedonian?

Not Macedonian; this page is the one for that. NoteOwl on a Mac understands 34 languages, English among them, and transcribes English recordings and meetings with unlimited transcription, labelling each speaker and uploading nothing.

FAQ

Questions about Macedonian audio to text

Is the Macedonian converter free?

Yes. Transcribe 3 Macedonian recordings a day, up to 30 minutes each, without an account; every download is included.

Is my Macedonian recording stored?

No. The page sends it in short pieces, over a secure connection, to a cloud AI transcription service, which transcribes each piece and deletes it. NoteOwl keeps neither the sound nor the Macedonian transcript.

Can it write in Latin letters?

No. The transcript is in Macedonian Cyrillic, names included. For a Latin version, run it through a Macedonian transliteration tool afterwards.

Can I make Macedonian subtitles?

Yes. Download SRT or VTT and each Cyrillic line carries its start and end time. Fix ќ and any missing sentences before you publish.

Can it take the sound from a video?

Yes. Drop an MP4 or MOV, a recorded call or a phone video, and the converter transcribes the audio track.
