How it works
How do you translate an English recording into Thai?
To translate English audio to Thai, drop the recording on this page. The English is transcribed in short pieces and then translated into Thai in batches, every line keeping the moment it was spoken. Read the Thai, switch to the English when you need to, and save.
- 1
Choose the English recording
A meeting, a lesson, a podcast episode or a voice message, as MP3, M4A, WAV or another audio file.
- 2
Transcribe, then translate
English words, then Thai text, for up to 30 minutes of each recording.
- 3
Copy or download
Paste the Thai or save TXT or Word; Show → Original gives the English.
What do you get from an English recording in Thai?
A transcript in Thai script, paragraph by paragraph, each with the time it was said. A Word copy opens with the recording’s name, its length and “Translated: English → Thai”, and every file carries .th in its name, beside the English version.
Does the Thai transcript speak as a man or a woman?
In polite lines, as a man. “Please sit down, sir” became “กรุณานั่งลงครับ”: ครับ is what men say, and a woman would end with ค่ะ. With several speakers, match each polite line’s particle to whoever said it.
How does Thai handle “you” and “she”?
Lightly. “You” became คุณ, polite and neutral, and “Our doctor said she would call back tomorrow” became “คุณหมอบอกว่าจะโทรกลับพรุ่งนี้”: a respectful “doctor”, no pronoun and no gender. Thai often drops what English spells out, and the meaning still holds.
Groups
“The teachers were tired” became “ครูเหนื่อยมาก…”: Thai marks no plural here.
Thanks
“Thank you all for coming today” became “ขอบคุณทุกคนที่มาร่วมงานในวันนี้”.
Questions
“Can you send me the report before Friday?” ended in ได้ไหม?, the Thai way to ask “can you…?”.
Why does the Thai transcript have no full stops?
Because Thai doesn’t use them. Words run together and a space marks the end of a phrase or sentence, so the commas in “Well, you know, it’s kind of a big deal” became spaces: “เอ่อ คุณรู้ไหม มันเป็นเรื่องใหญ่พอสมควร”.
English names come out in Thai letters, spelled by sound: Raonic appeared as ราโอนิก in our longer test. Search the Thai transcript for a name the way it sounds, or search the English transcript instead.
Calls in English and Thai every week?
Thai and English are among the languages NoteOwl understands on a Mac. It transcribes calls in either with unlimited transcription, labels each speaker and keeps every conversation searchable. For English words from an English recording, use audio to text.
FAQ
English recordings in Thai: questions
Is the English to Thai audio translator free?
Yes. 3 recordings a day, each up to 30 minutes long, with no account; all downloads included.
How good is the Thai?
In our test of 50 sentences, translation into Thai scored clearly above the dedicated translation system we compared it with. Polite particles and names in Thai letters are the first things to check.
Does the Thai use the Buddhist-era year?
No. Years stay as in English, 2026 rather than 2569. Add 543 to a year if your readers expect the Thai calendar.
Can I send the Thai as a Word document?
Yes. Word saves a .th.docx with the recording’s details at the top and the Thai paragraphs below, with or without times.
Will it read the Thai aloud?
No. The Thai is written only; there is no Thai voice or dubbed audio.
Is my recording uploaded?
Not the file. Your browser sends short pieces of the sound to a cloud AI transcription service and the English lines to a cloud AI translation service, which discard them after replying. NoteOwl keeps nothing.
