How it works
How do you translate an English recording into Turkish?
To translate English audio to Turkish, drop the file here: the page is set to English speech and Turkish text. The recording is written down in English in short pieces, then each line is put into Turkish with the time it was spoken. Read, compare, save.
- 1
Add the English recording
MP3, M4A, WAV or another audio file: a lecture, a client call, a podcast clip.
- 2
English first, then Turkish
Transcription, then translation, for up to 30 minutes of each recording.
- 3
Keep the Turkish transcript
Copy it, or download it as text or a Word document, times included.
What does the Turkish transcript give you?
Turkish paragraphs, each stamped with the moment it was said, which you can copy or save as text or Word. The Word file opens with the recording’s length and the line “Translated: English → Turkish”, so a colleague knows what they’re reading.
The English transcript keeps the same times. Switch to Original whenever a Turkish sentence needs checking, or go to that moment in the recording to hear the words yourself.
Does the Turkish address people as siz?
Yes. Our test lines all came back in the polite siz form, which suits a talk, a meeting or an interview: “Can you send me the report before Friday?” became “Raporu bana Cuma gününden önce gönderebilir misiniz?”
- Thank you all for coming today.
- TurkishBugün geldiğiniz için hepinize teşekkür ederim.
- Please sit down, sir.
- TurkishLütfen oturun, efendim.
- Our doctor said she would call back tomorrow.
- TurkishDoktorumuz yarın geri arayacağını söyledi.

What happens to “you know” and other fillers?
They become Turkish fillers. “Well, you know, it’s kind of a big deal” came back as “Şey, bilirsiniz işte, bu oldukça önemli bir mesele”: şey and işte do the work of “well” and “you know”. When you quote someone, quote the meaning, not each filler.
How does Turkish deal with he and she?
It doesn’t need to. Turkish has one word for he, she and it, so “Our doctor said she would call back” became “Doktorumuz yarın geri arayacağını söyledi”, with nothing to get wrong about the doctor. If gender matters to your notes, the English transcript still has it.
What is worth checking before you share the Turkish?
Names and anything misheard. In our test, translation from English into Turkish scored clearly above the dedicated translation system we compared it with, but it can only translate what the English transcript heard: a misheard word stays misheard in Turkish.
Names are kept as the English transcript spelled them, so a surname heard wrongly comes through wrongly. The times make each one quick to find in the recording.

FAQ
Questions about turning English audio into Turkish
Is the English to Turkish audio translator free?
Yes. 3 recordings a day, each up to 30 minutes long, with no account. The Turkish transcript, the English one and all the downloads come with it.
Can I save the Turkish as a Word document?
Yes. Choose Word and you get a document headed with the file’s name, its length and “Translated: English → Turkish”, followed by the Turkish paragraphs with their times, unless you switch times off.
Will I hear the Turkish spoken?
No. The result is written Turkish: text, Word or subtitle files. No Turkish voice track is made.
What if the speakers switch between English and Turkish?
This page treats the whole recording as English. For a conversation that moves between the two languages, use the main audio translator and leave the spoken language on Detect automatically.
Are speakers named in the Turkish transcript?
No. You get the words and their times, without speaker names. NoteOwl on a Mac labels each speaker in its own transcripts.
Does my recording leave my computer?
The file stays in your browser. Short pieces of its sound go to a cloud AI transcription service and the English text to a cloud AI translation service; neither keeps what it receives. NoteOwl stores no audio and no text.
