How it works
How do you add Turkish subtitles to an English video?
To translate an English video to Turkish, drop it on the page. Its sound is transcribed in English, each line is turned into Turkish, and the Turkish is cut into subtitles timed to the speech. Download the SRT and add it to your video or upload it with it.
- 1
Drop the English video in
MP4, MOV, MKV or WebM. Only the sound is used; the picture stays on your computer.
- 2
Turkish subtitles are built
Transcribed in English, translated into Turkish, then timed. Up to 30 minutes per video.
- 3
Download SRT or VTT
Or switch to Original to take the English subtitles as well.
How do Turkish subtitles look on screen?
Like any well-made subtitles: at most 2 lines of about 42 characters, broken between words, each on screen for 1 to 7 seconds and long enough to read at about 17 characters a second.
Turkish ran about the same length as English in our test, so Turkish lines are rarely more crowded than the English ones. In that test, translation from English into Turkish scored clearly above the dedicated translation system we compared it with.
Why don’t the Turkish subtitles line up one for one with the English?
Because Turkish usually saves the verb for the end of the sentence. The Turkish is translated first and cut into subtitles afterwards, so each subtitle follows a Turkish sentence and its pauses rather than splitting it where the English split.
“The teachers were tired after the trip” became “Geziden sonra öğretmenler yorgundu”: the trip comes first and “were tired” last. Splitting that at the English break would leave viewers waiting for the verb.
How do prices, dates and times appear in Turkish subtitles?
Written as Turkish viewers expect: “yüzde” before the number, a decimal comma, a full stop between thousands, the day before the month, and the 24-hour clock with its suffix after an apostrophe.
- The price went up by 6.5 percent to $1,250.

- Wow! That’s amazing!

Do names stay readable in Turkish subtitles?
Yes. Names written in Latin letters keep their spelling: “Dr. Patel and Maria Lopez will lead the session” became “Dr. Patel ve Maria Lopez oturuma liderlik edecek”. The only names to watch are ones the English transcript misheard, which carry over as heard.

FAQ
Questions about Turkish subtitles for English videos
Is the English to Turkish video translator free?
Yes. Translate 3 videos a day, each up to 30 minutes, without an account or a watermark. The Turkish SRT and VTT and the English subtitles are all included.
Does it make a Turkish voice-over?
No. It makes Turkish subtitle files and leaves your video untouched. Add the SRT beside the video on your platform, or burn it in with a video editor.
How do I add Turkish subtitles on YouTube?
In YouTube Studio, open Subtitles, pick the video, add Turkish as a language and upload the SRT file with timing. Viewers in Turkey can then choose Turkish from the subtitle menu.
Do the subtitles use siz or sen?
Siz. Every test line came back in the polite form, which suits courses and brand videos. A channel that talks to viewers like friends may prefer sen; edit those lines in the SRT.
Can I download the English subtitles too?
Yes. Switch the result to Original for the English SRT, with the same timing. Publishing both lets each viewer choose.
Is my video uploaded?
No. Your browser takes the sound out of the video on your device; short pieces go to a cloud AI transcription service and the English text to a cloud AI translation service, which keep nothing. The picture is never sent.
