How it works
How do you translate an Italian recording into Spanish?
To translate Italian audio to Spanish, drop the file on this page. It listens only for Italian, writes each short piece down, then translates it in batches of lines, so the Spanish transcript has context. Every Spanish line keeps the time of the Italian one.
- 1
Choose the recording
An Italian lecture, a call with a supplier in Milan, an interview or a voice message.
- 2
Italian first, then Spanish
The speech becomes Italian text, then Spanish. Up to 30 minutes per file.
- 3
Read and save
Copy the Spanish or download it as TXT or Word; Original shows the Italian.
Which Italian words look Spanish but mean something else?
False friends, the main thing to check between these two languages. Italian “esonerato” means dismissed, while Spanish “exonerado” means cleared of blame. Where an Italian word and its Spanish twin look identical, compare the line with the recording.
Most of the time the closeness helps: “Ultimamente è stato battuto” became “Últimamente ha sido derrotado”, and “si augura di” became a natural “espera”. It is the identical-looking words with different meanings that slip through.
What happens to Lei, tu and voi?
They map neatly: Lei, the polite form, becomes usted; tu becomes tú; voi, said to a group, becomes vosotros in Spain or ustedes in Latin America. Spoken, Lei sounds exactly like lei (she), so a remark to a client and a remark about a woman can look alike.
How is the Italian written down before translation?
Very cleanly, with accents and elisions: “più”, “l’apprendimento”, “vent’anni”. Our transcription test wrote clock times with a dot, “alle 23.35”, and counts as digits, and it left out quotation marks and brackets, so a quoted remark reaches the Spanish without them.
How natural is the Spanish from Italian?
Natural, in ten test sentences with a professional Spanish version beside them, and about the same length. Italian passives and conditionals came across intact. Two of the lines:

FAQ
Questions about translating Italian audio into Spanish
Is the Italian to Spanish audio translator free?
Yes. 3 recordings a day, up to 30 minutes each, with no sign-up. You get the Spanish, the Italian transcript and every download.
Does the Spanish keep the times of the recording?
Yes. Every Spanish paragraph starts with the time of the Italian it came from, so you can find that moment in the recording. Untick Times in the text to copy the Spanish without them.
Can I save the Spanish as a Word document?
Yes. The Word file is headed with the recording’s length and “Translated: Italian → Spanish”, then the Spanish paragraphs, each with its time unless you switch times off.
What if someone in the recording speaks Spanish?
Everything here is written down as Italian. For a recording in both languages, use the main audio translator with the spoken language on Detect automatically.
Is there a spoken Spanish version?
No. The translation is text only: on the page, or as TXT, Word, SRT or VTT.
Is my recording stored?
No. Your browser sends short pieces of the sound to a cloud AI transcription service, then the Italian text to a cloud AI translation service, and each discards it. NoteOwl keeps no audio and no text.
