How does Portuguese speech come out in English?
Close to the original and slightly shorter. In our test, Portuguese speech was transcribed very cleanly and its English rated strong. Across the whole test recording, the English used slightly fewer characters than the Portuguese transcript.

What happens to names and titles in the English?
Known names return to their English form: “Aberto de Brisbane” became “the Brisbane Open”. Names the transcript misheard stay misheard, though. Our test recording mentioned Goethe and Schlegel, the transcript heard “Goult” and “Skellige”, and the English kept those spellings.
Does it handle Brazilian and European Portuguese?
It listens for Portuguese as one language, so recordings from Brazil and from Portugal go through the same way. Our test recording was Brazilian Portuguese, and regional words were translated by meaning: the Brazilian “ônibus” came back as “bus”.
What does English lose from Portuguese?
Forms of address. Portuguese can show respect with “o senhor” or “a senhora” where English has only “you”, so that shift vanishes in the English. When how people speak to each other matters, read those lines in the Portuguese transcript too.

Where does my recording go?
