How it works

How do you turn a Spanish recording into Japanese text?

Drop the file here to translate Spanish audio to Japanese. The page is fixed to Spanish speech: it writes each short piece in Spanish, then translates the lines into Japanese in batches, each keeping its time. Original shows the Spanish words.

  1. 1

    Drop the Spanish recording

An interview for a Japanese article, a partner call, a lecture or a voice message.

  2. 2

    Spanish written, Japanese made

First a Spanish transcript, then the Japanese. Up to 30 minutes a file.

  3. 3

    Save the Japanese transcript

Copy it, or download TXT or a Word document.

How are Spanish names written in Japanese?

In katakana, by sound: Raonic became ラオニック and Fred フレッド, and a venue came back as シックス・フラッグス・セントルイス, with dots between the words. The human translation wrote ラオニッチ, so one name can have two katakana spellings. Brands such as Skype stayed in Latin letters.

If a name matters, such as a client or a speaker you will quote, check its katakana against how that person writes it in Japanese, or keep the Latin spelling.

Which level of politeness does the Japanese use?

The polite ます style, in our tests. From Spanish, every sentence ended in forms such as 敗れました and 移動しています, where the human Japanese ended one in the plain style (…ためだ). From English, “sir” even became お客様, customer. A casual chat may read more formal than it sounded.

Why does the Japanese sometimes add or drop “he” and “she”?

Japanese usually leaves a person unnamed once it is clear who is meant. Our test kept a “he” the Spanish implied (彼は少し前…) where the human Japanese had none, and from English “Our doctor said she…” became just 医師は…, with no pronoun and no gender. Both read naturally.

How do times and length change in Japanese?

Times take Japanese form, 午前8時46分 for 8:46 a. m., and dates run year, month, day. The text is compact: in our ten test sentences the Japanese used about two-fifths as many characters as the Spanish, with no spaces between words. The result line counts characters.

How was Spanish to Japanese translation tested?

With ten Spanish sentences from a public test set, each beside a professional Japanese translation. The Japanese was clear and polite; the verb “expulsaron” came back as 追放されました (banished) where the human Japanese says 解雇されました (dismissed).

FAQ

Questions about translating Spanish audio into Japanese

Is the Spanish to Japanese audio translator free?

Yes, and no account is needed. You can translate 3 recordings a day, up to 30 minutes each, with the Japanese, the Spanish transcript and every download included.

Can I download the Japanese as a Word file?

Yes. The Word file opens with the recording’s length and “Translated: Spanish → Japanese”, then the Japanese paragraphs, each with its time unless you untick Times in the text.

Does it understand Spanish from Latin America?

Yes. Spanish is one language on this page, whatever the accent, and it is written in standard Spanish spelling before the Japanese is made.

What if someone speaks Japanese in the recording?

This page writes every part down as Spanish. For a recording in both languages, use the main audio translator and set the spoken language to Detect automatically.

Does it give me Japanese audio?

No. The translation is written Japanese only, never a voice.

Is my recording stored?

No. The browser sends short pieces of the sound to a cloud AI transcription service and the Spanish text to a cloud AI translation service; each throws it away after replying, and NoteOwl stores nothing.
