How it works
How do you translate a Dutch recording into Spanish?
Drop the recording here to translate Dutch audio to Spanish. The page listens for Dutch only, writes each short piece down, then translates it, in batches of lines, into a Spanish transcript. Each Spanish line keeps the time of the Dutch it came from.

Can a Dutch past tense turn into a present in Spanish?
It can, when the transcript mishears it. Some Dutch past and present forms sound almost alike: our transcription test wrote “crasht” for crashte and “uitsterven” for uitstierven. The Spanish is made from the transcript, so check the tense of lines that matter.
The translation always works from the words it is given. One test sentence had a typo, “strom” for storm, and the Spanish read it as stroom (current): “la corriente se mueve”. A slip in the Dutch text becomes a slip in the Spanish.
What happens to Dutch times and numbers?
They change to the Spanish style: “Om precies 8.46 uur” came back as “Exactamente a las 8:46”, with a colon. Dutch transcripts tend to write counts as digits; our transcription test wrote “1 tot 3” and “30” where the speaker said the words.
How are Dutch split verbs and compounds translated?
Joined up again. Dutch splits verbs such as oplopen around a sentence: “liep bij zijn ongeluk … zwaar hoofdletsel op” came back as “sufrió lesiones graves en la cabeza durante su accidente”. Compounds can arrive split in the transcript (“Falkland eilanden”), so check names built that way.
Does u become usted?
That’s the match: u is the polite form, je the familiar one, and jullie, to a group, becomes vosotros in Spain or ustedes in Latin America. Our Dutch transcription test kept the formal u as spoken, so the Spanish has that to go on.
How natural is the Spanish from Dutch?
Natural, in ten test sentences with a professional Spanish version beside them: “werd het doodstil” became “se quedó en silencio absoluto”. The Spanish ran a little longer than the Dutch.

FAQ
Questions about translating Dutch audio into Spanish
Is the Dutch to Spanish audio translator free?
Yes. 3 recordings a day, each up to 30 minutes, with no sign-up. The Spanish, the Dutch transcript and the downloads are all included.
Does it work for Flemish speakers?
The page listens for Dutch as one language, so recordings from Belgium go through the same way. Our transcription test used speakers from the Netherlands; read local names and terms against the recording.
Can I save the Spanish as a Word file?
Yes. The Word file opens with the recording’s length and “Translated: Dutch → Spanish”, then the Spanish paragraphs, with their times unless you switch them off.
What if some speakers use Spanish or English?
This page writes every part down as Dutch. For a meeting that mixes languages, use the main audio translator with the spoken language on Detect automatically.
Does it show who said what?
No. The Spanish has words and times but no speaker names. NoteOwl on a Mac labels each speaker.
Is the recording stored?
No. Short pieces of the sound go from your browser to a cloud AI transcription service and the Dutch text to a cloud AI translation service; both discard it, and NoteOwl keeps no audio or text.
