How it works
How do you translate a French recording into Spanish?
To translate French audio to Spanish, put the recording on this page: it is set to French speech and Spanish text. The French is written down in short pieces, the lines are translated in batches so each is read with its neighbours, and every line keeps its time.
- 1
Choose the French recording
A lecture, a podcast episode, a client call or a voice message, in any common audio format.
- 2
French text, then Spanish
Transcribed in French, then translated into Spanish. Each file can run up to 30 minutes.
- 3
Read or save the Spanish
Copy the Spanish transcript or download it as TXT or Word; the French version is saved separately.
Why check genders and plurals in the Spanish?
Because spoken French hides many endings that Spanish pronounces. Our French transcription test heard “Danielle, experte” as “Daniel, expert” and “leurs proies” as “leur proie”. The Spanish is translated from those written words, so a lost ending stays lost: experto, not experta.
Verb endings that sound alike slip in the same way: the test wrote “résister” where the speaker said “résistez”. When a line says who did something, and the gender or number matters, play that moment again; the time beside the paragraph shows where it is.
Does vous become usted, ustedes or vosotros?
One of the three, chosen from context. French uses vous for one person addressed politely and for any group, where Spanish splits them. Spain says vosotros to friends and colleagues, Latin America says ustedes to every group, so check how a speaker addresses a room.
What happens to French times and numbers?
They are rewritten the Spanish way. “À 8 h 46 exactement” came back as “A las 8:46 exactamente”, and “165 km/h (105 miles par heure)” as “165 km/h (105 millas por hora)”, keeping the French order. Many numbers already arrive as digits.
Our French transcription test wrote “17 personnes” where the speaker said dix-sept, and “100% de certitude” for cent pour cent, so the Spanish gets figures it can use directly. Read amounts, dates and prices against the recording when they matter.
How natural is the Spanish from French?
Close to a human translator’s, in ten test sentences with a professional Spanish version beside them. “Piquet Jr. a été limogé” became “Piquet Jr. fue despedido”, and the idiom “mis à rude épreuve” the plain “puso a prueba”.

- SpanishEl autobús se dirigía al parque Six Flags St. Louis, en Missouri, para que el grupo tocara ante una sala llena.

FAQ
Questions about translating French audio into Spanish
Is the French to Spanish audio translator free?
Yes, with no sign-up: 3 recordings a day, up to 30 minutes each. The Spanish transcript, the French one and all the downloads are part of it.
Can I translate a French voice message?
Yes. Save the voice message from the chat app as a file, often OPUS or OGG, and drop it on the page like any other recording.
Do I get the French transcript too?
Yes. Switch the result to Original to read the French with the same times as the Spanish, then save it as text or SRT.
What if the speakers switch to Spanish halfway?
This page writes every part down as French first. For a recording that moves between the two languages, use the main audio translator with the spoken language set to Detect automatically.
Does it show who said what?
No. The Spanish has words and times but no speaker names. NoteOwl on a Mac labels each speaker in the transcripts it makes.
Where does my recording go?
It stays in your browser. Short pieces of the sound go to a cloud AI transcription service, and the French text to a cloud AI translation service; neither keeps what it was sent, and NoteOwl stores nothing.
