How it works

How do you get Spanish subtitles for a Dutch video?

Drop the Dutch video on this page. It transcribes the Dutch, translates each line into Spanish and lays the Spanish out as subtitles on the Dutch timing, which is all it takes to translate a Dutch video to Spanish. Download the SRT when it is ready.

  1. 1

    Choose the Dutch video

A product demo, a webinar, a family video: MP4, MOV, M4V, MKV, 3GP or WebM.

  2. 2

    Dutch becomes Spanish

Transcribed and translated, for up to 30 minutes of each video.

  3. 3

    Download the Spanish

SRT or VTT. The Dutch subtitles are under Original.

How is Dutch speech transcribed?

Cleanly, in our language test, which used speakers from the Netherlands. The Spanish is translated from that Dutch transcript, so it is worth a glance under Original when a Spanish line surprises you.

Do Dutch times and units switch to Spanish style?

Yes. “Om precies 8.46 uur” became “Exactamente a las 8:46”, the Dutch full stop turned into a colon, and “165 km/u” became “165 km/h”. One Dutch habit stayed: “Piquet jr.” kept its lowercase “jr.”, where Spanish writes “Jr.”.

Om precies 8.46 uur
Spanish subtitleExactamente a las 8:46
105 mijl per uur (165 km/u)
Spanish subtitle105 millas por hora (165 km/h)
Piquet jr. werd in 2009 ontslagen
Spanish subtitlePiquet jr. fue despedido en 2009

Does the Spanish run longer than the Dutch?

A little: ten Dutch test sentences totalled 1,000 characters and their Spanish 1,062. Each Spanish subtitle holds 2 lines of up to 42 characters and stays up long enough to read at 17 characters a second.

Where the Dutch speaker makes two sentences, the Spanish keeps two, which gives tidy subtitles such as “Exactamente a las 8:46, la ciudad / se quedó en silencio absoluto.”

What if the Dutch has a slip in it?

The Spanish follows what it is given. One Dutch test sentence wrote “strom” where it meant “storm”, and the Spanish read it as “la corriente” (the current). If a Spanish line seems odd, look at the Dutch under Original first.

FAQ

Questions about Spanish subtitles for Dutch videos

Is the Dutch to Spanish video translator free?

Yes. 3 videos a day, up to 30 minutes each, with no account. The Spanish subtitles, the Dutch ones and the text are all included.

Can I get the Dutch subtitles too?

Yes. Switch the result to Original and download the Dutch SRT or VTT, made from the same speech as the Spanish.

Will it dub the video in Spanish?

No. It writes Spanish subtitles and leaves the video file as it is.

How do Spanish-speaking viewers see the subtitles?

On YouTube, add Spanish under Subtitles in YouTube Studio and upload the SRT with timing. In VLC and most players, keep the SRT next to the video under the same name.

Is my Dutch video uploaded?

No. Your browser takes the sound out on your device; short pieces go to a cloud AI transcription service and the Dutch text to a cloud AI translation service, which each discard it. The picture never leaves your computer.
