How it works
How do you translate an English recording into Danish?
To translate English audio to Danish, upload the file to this page, which takes English speech and writes Danish. The English is transcribed in short pieces, then translated line by line with each line’s time, and the Danish transcript appears for you to read or save.
- 1
Upload the English recording
A customer call, a workshop, an interview or a voice note: MP3, M4A, WAV and similar files.
- 2
English, then Danish
The English is written down, then translated. Recordings can last up to 30 minutes.
- 3
Keep the Danish
Copy it, save text or Word, or switch to Original for the English.
What does the Danish transcript give you?
Danish paragraphs, each starting with the time it was said, ready to paste into minutes or save as a Word document headed “Translated: English → Danish”. The English transcript, with the same times, is a click away.
Those times are your way back to the source: when a Danish sentence matters, find the same moment in the English recording and listen.
How does a relaxed English speaker sound in Danish?
Like a relaxed Dane. “Well, you know, it’s kind of a big deal” became “Tja, du ved, det er faktisk en ret stor ting”: “tja” for the shrug, and a “faktisk” the speaker never said. Read quotes for that kind of added emphasis.
Thanks to a room
“Thank you all for coming today” became “Tak til jer alle for at komme i dag”, with jer for the group.
One person
Requests and questions use du, the normal Danish way to address anyone.
“Sir”
It stayed English: “Sæt dig venligst ned, sir.” Drop it from a written record if it jars.
Why does the Danish have a comma before at?
The translation uses the Danish comma before a clause: “Vores læge sagde, at hun ville ringe tilbage i morgen.” Danish lets writers include or leave out that comma, so match it to the style of the document you are pasting into.
What should you check in the Danish text?
Numbers, times and anything the English transcript got wrong, because a misheard word is translated just as it was heard. Prices switched to Danish marks (“$1.250”), times read “kl. 15:30”, and names stayed exactly as transcribed.

How well does English translate into Danish?
Very well: in our test, translation from English into Danish scored clearly above the dedicated translation system we compared it with. The Danish came out about the same length as the English, so the transcript runs to roughly the original’s length.

FAQ
Questions about translating English audio into Danish
Is the English to Danish audio translator free?
Yes. 3 recordings a day, each up to 30 minutes, with no sign-up. The Danish transcript, the English one and every download are included.
Can the Danish be saved as a Word document?
Yes. The Word file opens with the recording’s name, length and “Translated: English → Danish”, followed by the Danish paragraphs and their times, which you can switch off.
Does it produce Danish audio?
No. The Danish is written, as text, Word or subtitles; no spoken Danish is generated.
What if some people in the recording speak Danish?
This page transcribes all the speech as English. For a recording that switches between English and Danish, use the main audio translator with the spoken language on Detect automatically.
Does the transcript say who is speaking?
No. You get words and times without speaker names. NoteOwl on a Mac labels each speaker in its transcripts.
Is my recording saved anywhere?
No. Your browser keeps the file and sends short pieces of sound to a cloud AI transcription service, then the English text to a cloud AI translation service; both discard what they receive. NoteOwl stores nothing.
