How it works
How do you translate an English recording into Romanian?
To translate English audio to Romanian, drop the recording here; English speech and Romanian text are already set. The page writes the English down in short pieces, then translates each line and keeps its time. Read the Romanian, check a line against the English, then save it.
- 1
Drop in the English audio
An MP3, M4A, WAV or other file: an online course, a client call, an interview.
- 2
English, then Romanian
Transcription and translation, for up to 30 minutes of each recording.
- 3
Save the Romanian transcript
Copy it, or download text or a Word file; the English is under Original.
What does the Romanian transcript give you?
Romanian paragraphs, each with its time, to copy or save as text or Word, running a little longer than the English, as Romanian does. The Word file is headed with the recording’s length and “Translated: English → Romanian”, ready to send or archive.
Does the Romanian transcript keep tu and the polite form apart?
Mostly, by context. Lines spoken to a group or to “sir” came back polite, while a chatty aside took tu. If your recording is a formal meeting, read for tu forms such as “știi” and decide whether they should be polite.

- RomanianVă rog să stați jos, domnule.
- Well, you know, it’s kind of a big deal.
- RomanianEi bine, știi, e cam o chestie mare.

Will the Romanian know when a speaker meant a woman?
Not always. Romanian nouns carry a gender English often skips. “Our doctor said she would call back” became “Doctorul nostru a spus că va suna din nou mâine”, a male doctor, and “The teachers” became the masculine “Profesorii”. Correct those where you know who was meant.
How far can you rely on the Romanian?
A long way: in our test, translation from English into Romanian scored clearly above the dedicated translation system we compared it with. Its weak point is the English transcript: a misheard word or name is translated as heard, so check those before quoting.
Each paragraph’s time tells you where it sits in the recording, so a doubtful word is quick to find and hear again.

FAQ
Questions about translating English audio into Romanian
Is the English to Romanian audio translator free?
Yes. 3 recordings a day, each up to 30 minutes, with no account. You get the Romanian transcript, the English one and every download.
Can I get the Romanian in Word?
Yes. Download Word: the document lists the file name, its length and “Translated: English → Romanian”, then the Romanian paragraphs, with times unless you turn them off.
Can it give me Romanian audio?
No. The translation is written, as text, Word or subtitle files. It doesn’t produce a Romanian voice.
What if the recording switches into Romanian?
This page transcribes every part as English. For a recording in both languages, use the main audio translator with the spoken language on Detect automatically.
Does the transcript name the speakers?
No. The Romanian has words and times without speaker names. NoteOwl on a Mac labels each speaker in its transcripts.
Does my recording leave the browser?
Only as short pieces of sound, sent to a cloud AI transcription service; the English text then goes to a cloud AI translation service. Each discards what it receives, and NoteOwl stores nothing.
