How it works
How do you translate an English recording into Bulgarian?
To translate English audio to Bulgarian, drop the recording here: the page is set for English speech and Bulgarian text. It writes the English down in short pieces, then turns each line into Bulgarian, keeping the time it was said. Read the Cyrillic and save it.
- 1
Drop the English recording
MP3, M4A, WAV or any audio file: a training session, a call, a podcast.
- 2
English, then Bulgarian
Transcribed first, then translated, for up to 30 minutes of each recording.
- 3
Save the Bulgarian transcript
Copy it or download text or Word; the English stays under Original.
What does the Bulgarian transcript look like?
Timed paragraphs in Bulgarian Cyrillic, about as long as the English, which you can copy or save as text or Word. The Word file starts with the recording’s length and “Translated: English → Bulgarian”, so the reader knows it is a translation.
Does the Bulgarian address people as вие?
Yes, throughout our test, including the casual “you know”. That suits meetings, talks and interviews. If your recording is a chat among friends, you may want to change some lines to ти.
- Thank you all for coming today.
- BulgarianБлагодаря на всички, че дойдохте днес.
- Well, you know, it’s kind of a big deal.
- BulgarianЕ, знаете, това е доста голяма работа.
- Please sit down, sir.
- BulgarianМоля, седнете, господине.

Why might “she” turn into “they” in the Bulgarian?
Because the verb came back plural. “Our doctor said she would call back tomorrow” became “Лекарят ни каза, че ще се обадят утре”, “they will call”. When one person is meant, “ще се обади” is the fix. Plurals are simpler: “Учителите бяха уморени” says nothing about gender.
What happens to English names in a Bulgarian transcript?
They are written in Cyrillic, as Bulgarian does. That reads naturally, but a name the English transcript misheard is spelled in Cyrillic as misheard. In our test, translation from English into Bulgarian scored level with the dedicated translation system we compared it with.
Before you share the transcript, check the names of people and companies against the recording. Each paragraph’s time shows where to listen.

FAQ
Questions about translating English audio into Bulgarian
Is the English to Bulgarian audio translator free?
Yes. 3 recordings a day, each up to 30 minutes, without an account. The Bulgarian transcript, the English one and the downloads are included.
Will the Word document show Cyrillic?
Yes. The Word file is built in your browser from the Bulgarian text as written, so it opens in Word, Pages or Google Docs with the Cyrillic in place.
Can I hear the Bulgarian?
No. The translation comes as text, Word or subtitle files, not as Bulgarian speech.
What if the speakers switch to Bulgarian?
This page transcribes the whole recording as English. For a recording in both languages, use the main audio translator and leave the spoken language on Detect automatically.
Does the transcript say who is speaking?
No. The Bulgarian has words and times without speaker names. NoteOwl on a Mac labels each speaker in its transcripts.
Is my recording stored?
No. Your browser sends short pieces of its sound to a cloud AI transcription service, then the English text to a cloud AI translation service; each discards what it was sent. NoteOwl keeps no audio and no text.
