How it works
How do you translate an English recording into Slovenian?
To translate English audio to Slovenian, drop the recording on this page. The English is transcribed in short pieces, and the transcript’s lines are translated into Slovenian in batches, each keeping its time. You read the Slovenian, check any line against the English, then copy or download it.
- 1
Drop in the English recording
MP3, M4A, WAV, OGG or AAC: a seminar, a podcast episode, an interview, a call.
- 2
Transcribed, then translated
English text first, Slovenian after. Up to 30 minutes of each recording.
- 3
Save the Slovenian
As text or Word for reading, or SRT and VTT; the English transcript is under Original.
What will the Slovenian transcript give you?
The recording in Slovenian, in paragraphs, each opening with the time it was said. The Word file adds the recording’s length and “Translated: English → Slovenian” at the top. The English transcript, with the same times, is there for quoting the exact original words.
Does the translation use the Slovenian dual?
Yes. Slovenian has a verb form for two people, and our test used it: “Dr. Patel and Maria Lopez will lead the session” became “Dr. Patel in Maria Lopez bosta vodila sejo”, not the plural “bodo vodili”. Keep it in mind when a transcript quotes pairs of people.
Does the Slovenian say who is a woman?
It kept “she” in our test: “Our doctor said she would call back tomorrow” became “Naša zdravnica je rekla, da bo jutri poklicala nazaj”, with the feminine noun and verbs. A mixed group of teachers took the masculine “Učitelji so bili utrujeni”, as Slovenian does.
- Our doctor said she would call back tomorrow.
- SlovenianNaša zdravnica je rekla, da bo jutri poklicala nazaj.
- Dr. Patel and Maria Lopez will lead the session.
- SlovenianDr. Patel in Maria Lopez bosta vodila sejo.
- Thank you all for coming today.
- SlovenianHvala vsem, da ste prišli danas.
- Well, you know, it’s kind of a big deal.
- SlovenianNo, veste, to je precej velika stvar.
| English | Slovenian |
|---|---|
| Our doctor said she would call back tomorrow. | Naša zdravnica je rekla, da bo jutri poklicala nazaj. |
| Dr. Patel and Maria Lopez will lead the session. | Dr. Patel in Maria Lopez bosta vodila sejo. |
| Thank you all for coming today. | Hvala vsem, da ste prišli danas. |
| Well, you know, it’s kind of a big deal. | No, veste, to je precej velika stvar. |
How formal is the Slovenian?
Polite throughout. The translation used vi, even for the casual “you know”, which became “No, veste”. That suits interviews, lectures and work calls; if your recording is friends talking, a Slovenian reader would expect ti in places, and that’s an easy edit in the Word file.
How reliable is English to Slovenian translation?
Reliable in our test: on 50 sentences, translation from English into Slovenian scored above the dedicated translation system we compared it with, at about the length of the English. The weak spot is upstream: an English word misheard in the transcript is translated as heard.

FAQ
English audio into Slovenian: questions
Is the English to Slovenian audio translator free?
Yes. 3 recordings a day, up to 30 minutes of each, with no sign-up. The Slovenian, the English transcript and all downloads are included.
Can I download the Slovenian as Word?
Yes. The Word document carries the file’s name, its length and “Translated: English → Slovenian”, then the Slovenian paragraphs with their times; untick the times for a clean text.
Does it make a Slovenian audio version?
No. It writes the Slovenian down, as text, Word or subtitles; there is no spoken output.
What about a recording in English and Slovenian?
This page transcribes everything as English. For a conversation that switches between the two, use the main audio translator with the spoken language on Detect automatically.
Does the Slovenian show who said what?
No. The web transcript carries words and times without speaker names. NoteOwl on a Mac labels every speaker in its transcripts.
Is my recording kept?
No. Short pieces of the sound go to a cloud AI transcription service and the English text to a cloud AI translation service; each discards what it was sent, and NoteOwl keeps no audio or text.
