How it works

How do you translate an English recording into Tagalog?

To translate English audio to Tagalog, drop the recording on this page. It is transcribed as English in short pieces, and each line is translated into Tagalog with its time. Read the Tagalog transcript, check any line against the English, then save it.

  1. 1

    Drop in the English audio

MP3, M4A, WAV or OGG: a client call, a training session, a sermon or a voice message.

  2. 2

    English, then Tagalog

Transcribed in English, then translated, for the first 30 minutes of each recording.

  3. 3

    Save or share

Copy the Tagalog or download text or Word; the English transcript is under Original.

Does the Tagalog transcript use mo or po?

Both, following the English. A plain request kept the familiar mo: “Maaari mo bang ipadala sa akin ang ulat bago ang Biyernes?” A casual “Well, you know” became the polite “Alam niyo naman”. For a transcript an older relative or a client will read, add po where it belongs.

Will English terms stay in the Tagalog?

Many will, as in everyday Filipino writing. Our wider test kept presenter, toxin and binary number, and “coded” became naka-code. That keeps work and technical recordings readable; replace them with Tagalog words if the document must be formal.

Is the Tagalog longer than the English?

Yes, by about a fifth in our test. Tagalog adds marker words (ang, ng, sa, mga) and longer verb forms, so a translated transcript of a long meeting runs noticeably longer than the English one. The times on each paragraph stay the same.

What should you check in the Tagalog?

Names, numbers and anything misheard. Siya means he or she, so “Our doctor said she…” needed no choice, and names stayed as written, introduced by sina. A word misheard in the English transcript is translated as misheard, so check odd lines against the recording.

Our doctor said she would call back tomorrow.
TagalogSinabi ng aming doktor na tatawag siya muli bukas.
The teachers were tired after the trip.
TagalogPagod ang mga guro pagkatapos ng biyahe.
Dr. Patel and Maria Lopez will lead the session.
TagalogSina Dr. Patel at Maria Lopez ang mamumuno sa sesyon.

How does English to Tagalog translation hold up?

In our test, translation from English into Tagalog scored above the dedicated translation system we compared it with. Expect natural Tagalog with some English mixed in, not a word-for-word rendering of the English.

Handling English calls and meetings every week?

NoteOwl on a Mac transcribes English calls and meetings with unlimited transcription, labels each speaker and keeps them searchable; it doesn’t transcribe Tagalog. For English speech as English text, there’s audio to text.

FAQ

Questions about translating English audio into Tagalog

Is the English to Tagalog audio translator free?

Yes. 3 recordings a day, up to 30 minutes from each, and no account. You get the Tagalog, the English transcript and every download.

Is this Tagalog or Filipino?

Tagalog, which Filipino, the national language of the Philippines, is based on. Readers anywhere in the Philippines can use the transcript.

Can I get the Tagalog in Word?

Yes. The Word file lists the recording’s length, the date and “Translated: English → Tagalog”, then the Tagalog paragraphs with times you can switch off.

What if the speakers mix English and Tagalog?

This page hears everything as English. For a Taglish conversation that switches back and forth, use the main audio translator with the spoken language on Detect automatically.

Does it read the Tagalog out loud?

No. It writes Tagalog as text, Word or subtitles; there is no spoken Tagalog version.

Is my recording saved?

No. Short pieces of the sound go from your browser to a cloud AI transcription service and the English text to a cloud AI translation service; each discards what it got. NoteOwl keeps no audio or transcript.
