How it works

How do you add Tagalog subtitles to an English video?

To translate an English video to Tagalog, drop the file on this page. Its English speech is transcribed, each line is translated into Tagalog, and the Tagalog is laid out as subtitles at the moments the words are said. Then download the SRT.

  1. 1

    Drop the video in

MP4, MOV, MKV or WebM, from a phone, an editor or a screen recording. Only the sound is read.

  2. 2

    Tagalog subtitles are built

English speech, transcribed and then translated, for the first 30 minutes.

  3. 3

    Download SRT or VTT

Switch to Original for the English subtitles on the same timing.

Do Tagalog subtitles need more lines than English?

Often, since Tagalog ran about a fifth longer than English in our test. The Tagalog is cut into subtitles after translating, 2 lines of up to about 42 characters each, so the same speech can take more subtitles than the English did, each starting on its spoken words.

Every subtitle stays on screen for 1 to 7 seconds and is sized to be read at 17 characters a second. A fast English speaker can still make the Tagalog dense; trim filler words in the SRT if a line flashes by.

How are dates and amounts shown in Tagalog subtitles?

In English style, as many Filipino videos show them. In our test, “October 16, 2026, at 3:30 p.m.” became “October 16, 2026, sa ganap na 3:30 p.m.”, and “6.5 percent to $1,250” kept the point, the comma and the word percent.

The meeting is on October 16, 2026, at 3:30 p.m.
Tagalog subtitleAng pagpupulong ay sa October 16, 2026, sa ganap na 3:30 p.m.
The price went up by 6.5 percent to $1,250.
Tagalog subtitleTumaas ang presyo ng 6.5 percent tungo sa $1,250.
Wow! That’s amazing!
Tagalog subtitleWow! Nakakamangha iyan!

Will the subtitles sound respectful to Filipino viewers?

Where the English is. “Please sit down, sir” became “Maaari po kayong maupo, sir”, with po and the respectful kayo, and “Thank you all for coming today” used the plural inyo: “Salamat sa inyong lahat sa pagpunta ngayong araw.” Add po elsewhere for a family or church audience.

Where can Tagalog subtitles be used?

Anywhere an SRT or VTT file is accepted: YouTube Studio’s Subtitles page, Facebook video captions, most video editors and players. Keep the English track as well, since many Filipino viewers switch between the two.

How good is English to Tagalog in our test?

The translation into Tagalog scored above the dedicated translation system we compared it with. On screen, the useful checks are names, any English words you would rather see in Tagalog, and how polite each line sounds.

FAQ

Questions about Tagalog subtitles for English videos

Is the English to Tagalog video translator free?

Yes. 3 videos a day, the first 30 minutes of each, with no account and no watermark; Tagalog SRT and VTT and the English subtitles included.

Does it make a Tagalog voice-over?

No. It writes Tagalog subtitles only, and your video file stays exactly as it was.

Are these Filipino subtitles?

They’re Tagalog, the language Filipino is based on, so they suit Filipino viewers across the Philippines.

Can viewers choose English or Tagalog?

Yes. Download the Tagalog SRT and, from Original, the English SRT, then upload both as separate subtitle tracks.

Is my video uploaded?

No. Your browser separates the sound from the picture; short pieces of sound go to a cloud AI transcription service and the English text to a cloud AI translation service, which discard them. The picture never leaves your device.

Do the subtitles name the speakers?

No. Speaker names aren’t added to the subtitles made here.
