Indonesian to English audio translator

Because Indonesian verbs don’t mark tense. “Bus itu menuju ke Six Flags…” says only that the bus heads there; our test English chose “is heading”, where the human translation says “was headed”. Words like sudah, akan or tadi settle it; without them, check the recording.

From the conversation around it, because dia means either. “Baru-baru ini dia kalah melawan Raonic” came back as “Recently he lost to Raonic”, which matched the original. When a line could be about a woman, play that moment back.

That’s also why the transcript is translated in batches of lines rather than one sentence at a time: the lines around a dia usually say who it is.

English words said in passing, names and figures. The Indonesian is transcribed cleanly, but an English term can be heard as an Indonesian word first (“T-Rex” once came back as “tirai”), and a misheard word is translated as misheard.
