Drop your subtitle file here, or Choose your subtitle file
SRT or VTT. Up to 30,000 characters of each file, about 30 minutes of speech, 3 free files a day. Translates into Lithuanian.
Recording in Lithuanian too? NoteOwl transcribes Lithuanian on your Mac with unlimited transcription and saves SRT subtitles that name each speaker.
How it works
How do you translate an SRT into Lithuanian?
Add the file and press Translate; the target is already Lithuanian. The text of your subtitles is translated in batches of neighbouring lines, then each translation is placed back at the exact times of the line it replaces. Check a few, then download.
- 1
Add an SRT or VTT
In English, Latvian, Polish, Russian or another language on the From list.
- 2
Press Translate
A sentence that runs over two subtitles is read whole, and each half stays in its own subtitle.
- 3
Download Lithuanian
SRT or VTT for your player, or a bilingual SRT to compare both languages line by line.
Are the Lithuanian subtitles formal or casual?
Formal. Every “you” in our test came back as jūs, even the chatty “you know”, which became “žinote”, and “Please sit down, sir” became “Prašau atsisėsti, pone”. For a vlog or a channel that talks to friends, switch to tu forms such as “žinai”.
How do dates and percentages look in Lithuanian?
Year first, with short forms: “2026 m. spalio 16 d., 15:30” for October 16, 2026, at 3:30 p.m. Percent became “proc.”, the decimal point a comma, and $1,250 became “1 250 USD”, with a space between the thousands.
- The meeting is on October 16, 2026, at 3:30 p.m.
- LithuanianSusitikimas vyks 2026 m. spalio 16 d., 15:30.
- The price went up by 6.5 percent to $1,250.
- LithuanianKaina padidėjo 6,5 proc. iki 1 250 USD.
- Wow! That’s amazing!
- LithuanianOho! Tai nuostabu!

What happens to names and to “she”?
Names stayed exactly as written: “Dr. Patel ir Maria Lopez”. The woman behind “she” was kept, as “Mūsų gydytoja”. If your viewers know a person by a Lithuanian form of the name, change it by hand after downloading.
Is there enough room on screen for Lithuanian?
Yes. Lithuanian ran a little shorter than English in our test translations. Each subtitle keeps its own start and end, is laid out again in up to 2 lines of about 42 characters, and breaks only between words, so long Lithuanian words stay whole.
In our test, translation into Lithuanian from English scored just under the dedicated translation system we compared it with, within the margin we set. Reading the file once before you publish, with an eye on names and the jūs forms, is time well spent.
Working with Lithuanian recordings every week?
Lithuanian is one of the languages NoteOwl understands on a Mac: it transcribes recordings with unlimited transcription, labels each speaker and saves SRT subtitles with their names. For subtitles straight from Lithuanian speech, use the Lithuanian subtitle generator.
FAQ
Questions about Lithuanian subtitles
Is it free to translate subtitles to Lithuanian?
Yes. Up to 3 files a day, each with as many as 30,000 characters of subtitle text, translate into Lithuanian without an account or a watermark.
Which subtitle languages can go into Lithuanian?
English and the other languages on the From list, including Latvian, Polish, Russian and German. The page can detect the language, or you can pick it.
Do Lithuanian letters survive the download?
Yes. The SRT and VTT are written as UTF-8 text, so ą, č, ę, ė, į, š, ų, ū and ž are saved exactly. An older player that shows odd symbols just needs its subtitle encoding set to UTF-8.
Will the translation stay in sync with my video?
Yes. Each Lithuanian subtitle carries the number and the start and end times of the subtitle it came from, and the file has the same count, so nothing drifts.
What is the bilingual SRT for?
It holds your original line and the Lithuanian under it in one subtitle. Use it to learn Lithuanian from a film you know, or to check the translation against the source.
Does my subtitle file leave my computer?
Not the file itself: your browser reads it. Only the words of the subtitles go, in batches, to a cloud AI translation service, which sends back Lithuanian and discards them. NoteOwl keeps no copy of either.
