How it works

How do you put Galician subtitles on an English video?

To translate an English video to Galician, drop the video on this page. Its English speech is transcribed and translated, and the Galician is cut into subtitles that appear as each phrase is spoken. Download the Galician SRT or VTT and add it to the video.

  1. 1

    Add the video

An MP4, MOV, MKV or WebM in English. The picture is never sent.

  2. 2

    Galician subtitles are timed

Transcribed, translated and laid out, for the first 30 minutes of the video.

  3. 3

    Download the file

Galician SRT or VTT; the English subtitles are under Original.

Will the Galician subtitles speak to viewers as ti or vostede?

Mostly ti, with vostede where the English is formal: “Please sit down, sir” became “Por favor, sentese, señor”. Greetings to a whole audience use the plural, as in “Grazas a todos por vir hoxe” for “Thank you all for coming today”.

How do times and numbers appear in Galician subtitles?

Numbers take a decimal comma and a dot between thousands, “6,5 por cento” and “1.250$”. The time kept the 12-hour form, “ás 3:30 p.m.”, so change it to 15:30 if your viewers expect the 24-hour clock on screen.

The price went up by 6.5 percent to $1,250.
Galician subtitleO prezo subiu un 6,5 por cento ata os 1.250$.
The meeting is on October 16, 2026, at 3:30 p.m.
Galician subtitleA reunión é o 16 de outubro de 2026, ás 3:30 p.m.
Thank you all for coming today.
Galician subtitleGrazas a todos por vir hoxe.

Do Galician subtitles need more room than English?

A little: Galician ran slightly longer than English in our test. The Galician is laid out after translating, 2 lines at most of about 42 characters, each subtitle long enough to read and no longer than 7 seconds.

Line breaks fall between phrases and steer clear of ending a line on a one-letter word such as “e”, “o” or “a”, which belongs with the word after it.

What should you check before publishing?

Interjections and titles. In our test a mild “Wow!” came back as a much stronger Galician exclamation, and Dr. Patel became “A Dra. Patel”, a woman. Read exclamations and titles on screen, then publish.

How did English to Galician do in our test?

It scored above the dedicated translation system we compared it with, and wrote recognisably Galician subtitles: hoxe, outubro, prezo, reunión. Most fixes are the small ones above.

Making videos in English, Spanish or Portuguese?

NoteOwl understands English, Spanish and Portuguese on your Mac, though not Galician: it imports MP4 video, transcribes it with unlimited transcription and saves SRT subtitles with speaker names. With English subtitles already made, translate them into Galician and keep their timing.

FAQ

Questions about Galician subtitles for English videos

Is the English to Galician video translator free?

Yes. 3 videos a day, up to 30 minutes each, with no account and no watermark; Galician and English subtitles both download.

Will it dub the video in Galician?

No. It writes Galician subtitles and leaves the video file as it was.

Can viewers switch between English and Galician?

Yes. Download the Galician, then the English from Original, and upload both as separate subtitle tracks.

How do I add the Galician subtitles on YouTube?

In YouTube Studio, open Subtitles, pick the video, add Galician as a language and upload the SRT with timing.

Is my video uploaded?

No. Your browser takes the sound out on your device; short pieces go to a cloud AI transcription service and the English text to a cloud AI translation service, each discarding what it was sent. The picture stays with you.

Are speaker names included?

No. The subtitles hold the spoken words only.
