How it works
How do you put Lithuanian subtitles on an English video?
To translate an English video to Lithuanian, load it here. The English speech is turned into text, the text into Lithuanian, and the Lithuanian into subtitles that come in on the speaker’s words. Download the SRT and add it wherever the video plays.
- 1
Load the English video
MP4, MOV, MKV or WebM, from a course, a channel or a product demo. Its picture stays with you.
- 2
Let it translate
English speech, then Lithuanian subtitles, for videos up to 30 minutes long.
- 3
Download for your player
Lithuanian SRT or VTT; the English subtitles are in the Original view.
Do Lithuanian subtitles fit as well as English ones?
Yes, and with a little room to spare: Lithuanian ran slightly shorter than English in our test translations. Each subtitle has up to 2 lines of about 42 characters and stays up long enough to read at 17 characters a second.
Subtitles are cut from the Lithuanian after it is translated, so they follow Lithuanian sentences and the speaker’s pauses. A long Lithuanian word is never split across lines.
Will the subtitles address viewers formally?
Yes, with jūs. “Can you send me the report before Friday?” became “Ar galėtumėte man atsiųsti ataskaitą iki penktadienio?”, and “Please sit down, sir” “Prašau atsisėsti, pone”. For a relaxed vlog, change the jūs forms to tu in the SRT.
How do numbers and dates read in Lithuanian subtitles?
The Lithuanian way: year first with “m.” and “d.”, a 24-hour clock, “proc.” for percent, a decimal comma and a space in thousands. Exclamations keep their marks: “Wow! That’s amazing!” became “Oho! Tai nuostabu!”.

Where can Lithuanian viewers find the subtitles?
Wherever you add the SRT: as a Lithuanian track in YouTube Studio, in a course platform’s caption settings, or burned into the picture by your editor. Keep the English subtitles alongside so each viewer picks a language.
In our test, translation from English into Lithuanian scored just under the dedicated translation system we compared it with, within the margin we set. Reading the file through once before it goes live catches names and any line that should sound less formal.
Creating videos in English and Lithuanian?
Lithuanian and English are among the languages NoteOwl understands on a Mac. Import an MP4, let unlimited transcription write it out, and save SRT subtitles with the speakers named. With English subtitles already made, the subtitle translator keeps their timing exactly.
FAQ
Lithuanian subtitles for English videos: questions
Is the English to Lithuanian video translator free?
Yes. You can subtitle 3 videos a day, each up to 30 minutes, in Lithuanian, with no account and nothing stamped on the result.
Will it make a Lithuanian voice-over?
No. It produces Lithuanian subtitles only; the video and its English sound are left as they are.
How do I add Lithuanian subtitles on YouTube?
In YouTube Studio choose the video, open its Subtitles section, add Lithuanian and upload the SRT with timing. It then shows in the subtitle menu as Lithuanian.
Are ą, č, ę, ė, į, š, ų, ū and ž kept?
Yes. The subtitle files are saved as UTF-8, the standard encoding for subtitles, so every Lithuanian letter is stored as written.
Can I keep the English subtitles too?
Yes. Open Original and save the English SRT, made from the same speech, then publish both tracks.
Is my video uploaded?
No. Your browser pulls out the soundtrack and sends it in short clips to a cloud AI transcription service; the English text then goes to a cloud AI translation service. Both discard what they receive, and the picture is never sent.
