How it works
How do you subtitle a Lithuanian video in English?
To translate a Lithuanian video to English, add it here. Its Lithuanian speech is transcribed in short pieces, the lines are translated, and English subtitles are timed to the speakers. Look them over on the page, then save the English SRT.
- 1
Add the Lithuanian video
An interview, a lecture, a TV clip or a family video in MP4, MOV, MKV or WebM.
- 2
English subtitles appear
Lithuanian speech in, English subtitles out, for up to 30 minutes of video.
- 3
Save the subtitle file
English SRT or VTT, or the Lithuanian subtitles from Original.
How well does it understand spoken Lithuanian?
Well enough for the meaning to come through, though Lithuanian speech into English scored lower than most languages in our test. Names and borrowed words are where the Lithuanian transcript slips most, and a misheard word is translated as heard.
What should you look for in the English subtitles?
Names and the occasional word-for-word phrase. In our test, “reaktyvinis lėktuvas”, a jet, came back as “reactive aircraft”, and names inside Lithuanian case endings were the likeliest to change. Fix such words in the SRT with any text editor.
A unit in the same test came through cleanly: “165 km/val.” became “165 km/h”.
How are the English subtitles timed?
From the Lithuanian speech. Each English subtitle starts as its Lithuanian words are spoken, holds up to 2 lines of about 42 characters, and stays up to 7 seconds, long enough to read at 17 characters a second.
English is cut into subtitles after translation, so its subtitles follow English sentences and needn’t match the Lithuanian ones one for one. The Lithuanian subtitles under Original keep their own cuts.
Recording in Lithuanian regularly?
Lithuanian is among the languages NoteOwl understands on your Mac. Import an MP4, get a full transcript from unlimited transcription and save SRT subtitles with speaker names. For Lithuanian subtitles only, use the Lithuanian subtitle generator.
FAQ
English subtitles for Lithuanian videos: questions
Is the Lithuanian to English video translator free?
Yes. Subtitle 3 videos a day in English, each up to 30 minutes, with no account and no watermark; the Lithuanian subtitles come with them.
Is there an English voice-over?
No. You get English subtitles; the video and its Lithuanian sound are not changed.
Can I add the English subtitles on YouTube?
Yes. In YouTube Studio, open the video’s Subtitles, add English and upload the SRT with timing. Viewers then pick English from the subtitle menu.
What if the speakers switch to Russian or English?
This page hears everything as Lithuanian. For a video with more than one spoken language, use the main video translator with the spoken language on Detect automatically.
Do the subtitles name the speakers?
No. They hold the words only. NoteOwl on a Mac saves SRT subtitles with each speaker’s name.
Is my video uploaded?
No. The browser separates the sound from the picture on your computer and sends the sound in short clips to a cloud AI transcription service; the Lithuanian text then goes to a cloud AI translation service. Both discard it, and the picture never leaves.
