How it works
How do you translate an English recording into Hungarian?
To translate English audio to Hungarian, drop the file here; the page already expects English speech and gives Hungarian text. It transcribes the English in short pieces, translates each line, and keeps each line’s time. Read the Hungarian, check against the English, and save.
- 1
Choose the English recording
MP3, M4A, WAV or another audio file: a webinar, an interview, a voice note.
- 2
From English speech to Hungarian text
Transcribed, then translated, for up to 30 minutes of every recording.

Save the Hungarian
Copy it, or download text or a Word document; switch to Original for the English.
What do you get from an English recording in Hungarian?
A Hungarian transcript in timed paragraphs, about as long as the English, to copy or save as text or Word. The Word document carries the length of the recording and “Translated: English → Hungarian”, so it can be filed and found later.
Is the Hungarian transcript formal or informal?
A mix. In our test some lines took the polite form and the casual “you know” took the familiar “tudod”. For minutes or a report, choose one register and adjust the lines that don’t match it.
In the last line a Hungarian speaker would address the man as “uram” rather than “úr”.
- Thank you all for coming today.
- HungarianKöszönöm mindenkinek, hogy ma eljött.
- Well, you know, it’s kind of a big deal.
- HungarianNos, tudod, ez elég nagy dolog.
- Please sit down, sir.
- HungarianKérem, üljön le, úr.

What happens to he and she in Hungarian?
Nothing to fix. Hungarian uses one word, ő, for both, so “Our doctor said she would call back” became “Az orvosunk azt mondta, hogy holnap visszahív”, and “The teachers were tired after the trip” became “A tanárok fáradtak voltak az utazás után”, with no gender to choose.
What should you check before quoting the Hungarian?
Misheard words and stray English. In our test, translation from English into Hungarian scored level with the dedicated translation system we compared it with, but a word the English transcript misheard stays misheard, and now and then an English word is left untranslated.
Names keep the spelling the English transcript gave them. With the time beside every paragraph, any doubtful line is quick to find in the recording.

FAQ
Questions about translating English audio into Hungarian
Is the English to Hungarian audio translator free?
Yes. Translate 3 recordings a day, each up to 30 minutes, with no account. The Hungarian transcript, the English one and the downloads are all included.
Can I download the Hungarian as Word?
Yes. The Word document opens with the file name, the recording’s length and “Translated: English → Hungarian”, then the Hungarian paragraphs with their times, which you can switch off.
Does it speak the Hungarian aloud?
No. The Hungarian is written out as text, Word or subtitles; no Hungarian audio is produced.
What if some of the recording is in Hungarian?
This page transcribes everything as English. For a recording that moves between English and Hungarian, use the main audio translator and leave the spoken language on Detect automatically.
Will the transcript show who is speaking?
No. It has words and times but no speaker names. NoteOwl on a Mac labels each speaker in the transcripts it makes.
Is the recording stored anywhere?
No. Your browser reads it and sends short pieces of the sound to a cloud AI transcription service, then the English text to a cloud AI translation service; each throws away what it was sent. NoteOwl keeps nothing.
