How it works
How do you make Slovenian subtitles for a video?
Drop the video here. The sound is transcribed as Slovenian in short pieces, and the text is set out as subtitles of one or two lines that follow the speaker. Read them in the preview and download SRT or VTT.

Pick a video
A lecture, a vlog, a club video or an interview: MP4, MOV, MKV or WebM, or just its audio.
- 2
Slovenian subtitles
The speech is written in Slovenian for up to 30 minutes of the video.
- 3
Download them
SRT for YouTube or an editor, VTT for a web player, or plain text.
How are Slovenian subtitles laid out?
In one or two lines of up to 42 characters, broken after commas and between phrases. Every Slovenian test sentence came back with its full stop and its commas, which give the generator clean places to end a subtitle.
The 40 test sentences became 81 subtitles, most of them two lines of about 30 characters.

Which letters appear in Slovenian subtitles?
č, š and ž, the only letters with marks in the Slovene alphabet, and no ć or đ in our test. The subtitle file is saved as UTF-8, so all three come through in any app that reads it that way.
Why set the subtitle language to Slovenian?
Because Slovenian and Croatian are close, and a guessed language could subtitle a stretch in Croatian. Set to Slovenian, the whole video is written as Slovenian; even then a few words leaned Croatian, such as enostavan for enostaven and saboto for soboto.
For a video that switches between Slovenian and English sentences, use the main subtitle generator, which finds the language of each stretch.
What should you check in Slovenian subtitles?
Foreign names first, then verbs that change the meaning. Names are spelled by sound and can split into other words, and one test sentence lost a prefix: “so odpovedali” (they cancelled) came back as “so povedali” (they said).
Names
Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid came back as “začinten dolag Kar” and “Rul David”.
Split names
Mendozo came back as two words, “men dozo”. Search the SRT for each name.
Croatian forms
Watch for words such as saboto or enostavan, and set them right.
Can NoteOwl subtitle Slovenian recordings on a Mac?
Yes. Slovenian is one of the languages NoteOwl understands on your Mac, where it transcribes recordings with unlimited transcription, labels each speaker and saves SRT subtitles with their names. For a Slovenian transcript instead, try Slovenian audio to text.
FAQ
Questions about Slovenian subtitles
Is the Slovenian subtitle generator free?
Yes. Subtitle 3 Slovenian videos a day, up to 30 minutes of each, with no account and no watermark, in SRT, VTT or text.
Can it make English subtitles from Slovenian speech?
No. The subtitles are in the Slovenian that is spoken, untranslated. Translate the SRT’s text for English and keep its numbers and times exactly as they are.
How do I edit a subtitle?
Open the SRT or VTT in any text editor, change the words and save as UTF-8 so č, š and ž stay intact. Don’t change the numbers, times or blank lines.
Is the video sent anywhere?
Not the video. Your browser opens it on your device and takes out the sound; short pieces of the sound go over a secure connection to a cloud AI transcription service, which transcribes each and discards it. NoteOwl keeps nothing.
Can the subtitles be burned into the picture?
Not here: the page makes a subtitle file. Import it into a video editor and burn it in on export, or upload it beside the video so viewers can switch it off.
Do the subtitles name the speakers?
No, the web generator writes the words only. NoteOwl on a Mac names each speaker in the SRT files it saves.
