How it works

How do you add English subtitles to an Azerbaijani video?

To translate an Azerbaijani video to English, drop it on this page. The Azerbaijani speech is transcribed and translated line by line, and the English is laid out as subtitles that appear as each phrase is spoken. Download the SRT to watch with or to publish.

  1. 1

    Drop in the video

MP4, MOV, MKV or WebM. Your browser reads only the sound.

  2. 2

    English subtitles are made

Azerbaijani is transcribed and translated, through the first 30 minutes of the video.

  3. 3

    Download SRT or VTT

Switch to Original for Azerbaijani subtitles on the same timing.

Can you follow an Azerbaijani video with these subtitles?

Yes, the meaning comes through. In our test, real Azerbaijani speech scored lower than most languages once transcribed and translated, yet plain narration read cleanly: “1 dəqiqə keçməmiş küləyin sürəti artıq saatdə 70 km idi” became “In less than 1 minute, the wind speed was already 70 km/h”.

Şov başladıqdan sadəcə 5 dəqiqə sonra külə esməyə başladı.
English subtitleJust 5 minutes after the show started, the wind began to blow.
1 dəqiqə keçməmiş küləyin sürəti artıq saatdə 70 km idi.
English subtitleIn less than 1 minute, the wind speed was already 70 km/h.
Onun 20 yaşlarında olduğu bildirilir.
English subtitleHe is reported to be in his 20s.

Why does a subtitle sometimes say something odd?

Usually because a word was misheard before it was translated. In our test, “Katalan dili” (the Catalan language) was heard as “Katalog dili” and came out as “the catalog language”. When a subtitle reads strangely, switch to Original and compare.

What should you check before publishing?

Every name. Azerbaijani writes foreign names by sound, and the English keeps that spelling: the singer Bieber, spelled “Biber” in the Azerbaijani transcript, stayed “Biber” in the English. Fix names in the SRT before your viewers see them.

Do English subtitles fit the same space as Azerbaijani?

Roughly: the two ran about the same length in our English to Azerbaijani test. The English is laid out after translating, at most 2 lines of about 42 characters, each up for 1 to 7 seconds and long enough to read.

Making videos in English, Russian or Turkish too?

NoteOwl understands English, Russian and Turkish on your Mac, though not Azerbaijani: it imports MP4 video, transcribes it with unlimited transcription and saves SRT subtitles with speaker names. For Azerbaijani subtitles of Azerbaijani speech, use the Azerbaijani subtitle generator.

FAQ

Questions about English subtitles for Azerbaijani videos

Is the Azerbaijani to English video translator free?

Yes. 3 videos a day, the first 30 minutes of each, with no account and no watermark; English and Azerbaijani subtitles are both included.

Does it dub the video into English?

No. It writes English subtitles; the video and its Azerbaijani sound are not changed.

What if the video switches to Russian or Turkish?

This page hears everything as Azerbaijani. For a video that changes language, use the main video translator with Detect automatically.

Can I publish the Azerbaijani subtitles too?

Yes. Switch to Original and download Azerbaijani subtitles on the same timing, then upload both tracks so viewers can choose.

Is my video uploaded?

No. Your browser separates the sound from the picture; short pieces of sound go to a cloud AI transcription service and the Azerbaijani text to a cloud AI translation service, each discarding what it was sent. The picture is never sent.

Are speaker names added?

No. The subtitles show the spoken words only.
