How it works
How do you transcribe Bulgarian audio?
Open the recording here. The page splits it at pauses into short pieces, each piece is written as Bulgarian, and paragraphs appear in order with their start times. When it finishes, copy the text or pick a download.
- 1
Open a Bulgarian recording
A voice message saved from your phone, a voice memo, an interview or a recorded lesson: audio or video files.
- 2
Cyrillic as it goes
Each piece is decoded as Bulgarian, never guessed, for the first 30 minutes of the file.
- 3
Save it
Copy the transcript or save it as Word, TXT, or SRT and VTT captions.
Is the transcript in Bulgarian Cyrillic, not Russian?
Yes. It uses the Bulgarian alphabet: ъ as a vowel, щ, ю and я, and no ы or э. In a long run of Bulgarian, one word came back in its Russian spelling, обстоятельства for обстоятелства, so that is the kind of slip to look for.
The full and short article were swapped a couple of times, as in неговият апогей for неговия апогей. Bulgarian writers check that rule by habit, and the same habit catches it here.
How does it write numbers, units and foreign words?
Numbers come back as digits, centuries with their ending (20-ти век) and kilometres as км. Latin words stayed in Latin letters, as civilis did, while names were written in Cyrillic by their sound.

Why does the page fix the language to Bulgarian?
Bulgarian shares its alphabet and much of its vocabulary with neighbouring Slavic languages, so a brief piece could be read as one of them if the language were guessed. Fixed to Bulgarian, every piece keeps Bulgarian spelling and grammar.
A recording that switches between Bulgarian and English for long stretches suits the main converter, which detects the language of every piece.
What needs tidying in a Bulgarian transcript?
Quotation marks, brackets and names. The transcript leaves out „…“ and parentheses, so a quoted remark runs on as plain text. Proper names, especially foreign ones, are spelled the way they sounded, so compare them with the audio.
Can NoteOwl work in Bulgarian on a Mac?
Yes. NoteOwl understands Bulgarian on your Mac and transcribes Bulgarian recordings and meetings there with unlimited transcription. It labels every speaker, makes past conversations searchable and uploads nothing. Dictation, free in the app, types Bulgarian into any app.
FAQ
Bulgarian audio to text FAQ
How much Bulgarian can I transcribe for free?
3 files a day, and up to 30 minutes of each. There is nothing to sign up for and no download costs extra.
Does it put punctuation in the Bulgarian transcript?
Full stops and commas, yes: sentences end with a full stop and clauses are split by commas much as a Bulgarian writer would. Quotation marks, dashes and brackets are left out, so add them where a quotation needs them.
Is my recording kept after it is transcribed?
No. Short pieces of the sound travel over a secure connection to a cloud AI transcription service, which writes each one out and deletes it. NoteOwl saves neither the audio nor the text, so download what you need before leaving the page.
Can it read a Bulgarian video?
Yes. Drop an MP4 or MOV and the converter takes its sound track and ignores the picture, which suits a downloaded call, a lecture video or a clip from your phone.
Will it translate Bulgarian into English?
No. The transcript stays in Bulgarian. For an English version, paste it into a translation tool and keep the original beside it; the times on each paragraph still point to the right moment in the audio.
