How it works

How do you transcribe Polish audio?

Pick the file and leave the tab open. The recording is split where the speaker pauses, each part is transcribed as Polish, and the text grows on the page with a time at each paragraph. Copy it or download the format you need.

  1. 1

    Select the file

An M4A dyktafon recording, a voice message from Messenger or WhatsApp, an MP3 podcast or a video.

  2. 2

    Wait for the Polish text

Paragraphs arrive one by one, each with its start time. Up to 30 minutes are transcribed from every file.

  3. 3

    Copy or export

Paste it into a document, or save TXT, DOCX, SRT or VTT.

Does it write ą, ę, ł and the other Polish letters?

Yes, all nine. Our Polish test transcript used ą, ć, ę, ł, ń, ó, ś, ź and ż in words such as “Podróżni”, “pieniędzy”, “ołówek”, “jeździć” and “żądać”, and every piece came back with capital letters and punctuation.

That means a Polish transcript can be pasted straight into a report or an email without adding the diacritics by hand.

How are numbers, times and centuries written?

Counts usually become digits, centuries stay in Roman numerals, and clock times use a dot. Abbreviations that were read out in full are written in full: “godz.” came back as “godziną”, and “s. 109” as “strona 109”.

“dziewiętnastu policjantów”
Transcribed“19 policjantów”
“dwadzieścia kilka lat”

Why set the converter to Polish instead of detecting it?

Polish shares sounds and words with Czech, Slovak and Ukrainian, and a short or noisy piece can be mislabelled when the language has to be guessed. Fixed to Polish, every piece is spelled the Polish way, with Polish letters.

For a recording that switches between Polish and English for long passages, the main audio to text converter is the better fit: it decides the language of each piece separately.

What should you check in a Polish transcript?

Small words that change the meaning, then rare nouns. In our test one sentence gained a “nie” that wasn’t spoken, and a month changed: “marca” came back as “walca”. Both read as correct Polish, so only the audio catches them.

  • Negations

“by znaleźć” became “by nie znaleźć”. Search for “nie” in sentences that matter.

  • Rare words

“żegludze” turned into “szegluze” and “jętki” into “jądki”.

  • Foreign names

The Springboks rugby team came back as “Spring Box”.

FAQ

Questions about Polish audio to text

Is the Polish converter free?

Yes. You get 3 files a day, each transcribed up to 30 minutes, without creating an account; downloading the text or subtitles costs nothing either.

Does it use Polish quotation marks?

No. Our test transcript had no „…” quotes and no brackets, even where the original text had them; quoted words simply ran on in the sentence. Add them back where a quotation matters.

Can it handle Silesian or Kashubian?

The page is set to standard Polish, and our tests used standard Polish read aloud. Kashubian is a separate regional language and Silesian has words of its own, so try a short clip first if your speakers use either.

Is my Polish recording kept on a server?

No. Short fragments of the audio are sent over a secure connection to a cloud AI transcription service, which transcribes each one and deletes it. NoteOwl stores neither the file nor the text.

Can I make Polish subtitles?

Yes. When the transcript is done, download SRT or VTT. Every subtitle has its start and end time, so it can be loaded straight into YouTube or a video editor.

How accurate is the Polish transcript?

On a clear recording it is close to word for word, diacritics included. Rare nouns, foreign names and short words such as “nie” deserve a second look against the audio.
